In La Cuenta you go out for tapas from bar to bar with your group of friends. In each bar, someone will have to pay the bill – try not to be the one! Inevitably, someone will run out of money. When that happens, the player with the most money left wins.
As aspiring bomb disposal professionals, players in Bomb Busters must work together as a team to prevent the bomb from exploding! In order to successfully carry out their mission, they have to cut identical cables – they have some of them right in front of them, but they have to find out who has a cable of identical value one by one. The information that each number from 1 to 12 is exactly four times in the game helps with this, as does the sorting of the cables of each team member in numerical order. Two severed cables with identical numbers bring them one step closer to bomb defusal. However, if they cut cables with different values, the explosion of the bomb comes closer. When a red cable is cut, there is an immediate crash and the game ends. Yellow cables with decimal numbers add extra challenge to the game and equipment cards help with particularly tricky missions.

Tales & Games IV: The Grasshopper & the Ant The Grasshopper & the Ant includes two ways to play, but the heart of both is the same. At the start of the game, lay out 16 (of the 48) path cards in a 4x4 grid; each path card shows one of four types of landscapes. The ant player places six ants on these cards, one ant per card, with the ants forming a chain (as in real life), then secretly chooses one type of terrain on which at least one ant stands. The grasshopper player then stands with one of the ants, and if the grasshopper chose the same landscape as the ant player, the grasshopper takes all the path cards of this type on which an ant stands; if the grasshopper chose incorrectly, then the ant player takes these path cards. Either way, you then refill the 4x4 grid. The ant player keeps playing until she finally wins path cards, then the next player in clockwise order controls the ants. (In winter mode, the third and fourth players control red ants and receive a random path card if they match the choice of the ant player.) In autumn mode, players score path cards immediately, with each type being tracked independently; path cards that feature insects are saved for a endgame bonus. As soon as a player maxes out two scoring tracks, the game ends and whoever has the most points wins. In winter mode, players keep the path cards they collect in order to buy provision cards (worth one victory point), which cost particular combinations of path types. In this mode, when you win a path card that features an insect, you can claim another card in the grid that features the same insect. Collect both provision cards of the same type, and you score a bonus VP. The first player to collect 4 VPs wins.

In Ultimate Werewolf, players are given secret roles and asked to find whom among them are werewolves. Meanwhile the players who are werewolves are trying to get rid of everyone else in the village before they are discovered. With a variety of special-powered roles thrown in, games require players to be alert and to deduce the actions of all of the other players in order to survive and win. Ultimate Werewolf Legacy raises the tension and increases the impact of decisions made by the players, as everything that happens will impact future games. 8-16 players are each given a public Family Card in addition to their secret role card, and will team up with the other members of their family to work together?unless one or more of their family members is secretly working against them. Players can earn special abilities that carry over between games as well. The Legacy aspect of the game isn?t limited to player evolution, however, as the village itself will change over time base on both the decisions of the players and the outcomes of each game session. There are multiple paths that the game may take, and as a result the experience you have playing through the entire game will be different than someone else who is playing with another set of people. This also allows players to play through the campaign multiple times, with a different set of roles, rules, and environments each time.

In The Settlers of Catan, players try to be the dominant force on the island of Catan by building settlements, cities, and roads. On each turn dice are rolled to determine what resources the island produces. Players collect these resources (cards) - wood, grain, brick, sheep, or stone - to build up their civilizations to get to 10 victory points and win the game.Setup includes randomly placing large hexagonal tiles (each showing a resource or the desert) in a honeycomb shape and surrounding them with water tiles, some of which contain ports of exchange. Number disks, which will correspond to die rolls (two 6-sided dice are used), are placed on each resource tile. Each player is given two settlements (think, houses) and roads (sticks) which are, in turn, placed on intersections and borders of the resource tiles. Players collect a hand of resource cards based on which hex tiles their last-placed house is adjacent to. A robber pawn is placed on the desert tile.A turn consists of possibly playing a development card, rolling the dice, everyone (perhaps) collecting resource cards based on the roll and position of houses (or upgraded cities - think, hotels) unless a 7 is rolled, turning in resource cards (if possible and desired) for improvements, trading cards at a port, and trading resource cards with other players. If a 7 is rolled, the active player moves the robber to a new hex tile and steals resource cards from other players who have built structures adjacent to that tile.Points are accumulated by building settlements and cities, having the longest road and the largest army (from some of the development cards), and gathering certain development cards that simply award victory points. When a player has gathered 10 points (some of which may be held in secret), he announces his total and claims the win.Components:19 Hexagonal Region Tiles6 Sea Frame Pieces9 Extra harbor Pieces20 Wooden Settlement Pieces16 Wooden City Pieces16 Wooden Road Pieces95 Resources Cards25 Development Cards4 Building Cost Cards2 Special Bonus Cards18 Number Tokens2 Dice1 Wooden Robber Pawn1 Rulebook & AlmanacPlayers: 3-4Ages: 10+Playtime: 90 min
In Codenames Duet, you're no longer competing — you're teaming up with a fellow operative (or operatives in a group game) for an exciting cooperative experience. The mission? Work together to find all your secret agents hidden among a grid of mysterious codenames. The twist? You each see part of the key — and neither of you has the full picture. Codenames: Duet is perfect to enjoy with only two players, but you can also play it with more friends, if you'd like a less competitive experience than in the basic Codenames. Here’s how the game works: Lay out 25 word cards in a 5×5 grid. Between you is a shared key card — each half of the team sees one side. On your side, nine words mark your agents, three mark deadly assassins, and the rest are innocent bystanders. You’ll take turns giving one-word clues paired with a number, pointing the operative(s) across from you to specific words on the grid. Guess right? Keep going. Guess a bystander? Your turn ends. Guess an assassin? Mission failed — game over. But as long as your guesses are correct, you can keep going, even revisiting past clues. The game is played over a series of 9 turns, but can be increased to 11 turns for operatives who may need a little more time as they improve their skills. Since everyone is working together, there's no downtime between turns — keeping all players fully engaged throughout!Your goal: Find all 15 agents — without triggering an assassin — before you run out of time!Works great with 2 players, but also with more !

Is it possible to escape by boat when a shipwreck occurs? The difference between sinking, swimming, and safely making it to an island may be just a vote away! Gameplay in Lifeboats: Plank of Carneades is all about voting, which takes the form of both co-operation and betrayal over the course of play as circumstances change and you find your sailors on the brink of death. During a vote, each player chooses a card from their hand, then everyone reveals their choices at the same time. You have one card of each boat color — which also correspond to the player colors — as well as three captain cards. If you're the only person to play a captain card during a vote, you get to decide the result, but if more than one captain card is played, they're ignored. In either case, each captain card can be played only once. First, players vote on which ship springs a leak. Second, players vote on which ship moves forward one space toward its island. If the ship reaches the island, all of its occupants are safe and will score their player points based on which island was reached. Third, players scramble to find better chances for survival. Lifeboats: Plank of Carneades differs from Lifeboats in that it allows for up to seven players to fight for seats on ships. In addition, in some circumstances the ships will move faster and more ships will spring a leak, making gameplay move faster. Finally, the captain card is more powerful as players can use it to keep any ship from springing a leak in a round.
